… das Showcenter 200 hat unser Fernseh-Erlebnis dramatisch verändert. Es ist einfach herrlich wenn man nicht mehr alles auf CD/DVD brennen muss um es anzusehen (reduziert Kosten, spart Zeit, ist bequem). Die Bedienung ist denkbar einfach.

Bei uns ist das Gerät mit Kabel angeschlossen, allein wegen der Zuverlässigkeit, Übertragungsgeschwindigkeit und dem fehlenden WLAN. Keine Probleme damit wenn man eine feste IP vergibt. Übrigens, man kann das Gerät sogar anpingen um festzustellen ob es on ist.

Im Gegensatz zu so manchem DVD Player mit DivX Fähigkeit spielt das Showcenter wesentlich zuverlässiger/ruckelfreier und auch mehr AVIs ab als ich erwartet hatte. MPG und WMV kann es natürlich auch, und auch DVDs (VOB Dateien). Spulen, immer ein Problem bei AVI/MPG, geht auch erstaunlich bequem und zuverlässig – entweder man spult zu einem bestimmten Zeitpunkt (leider nur in % der Gesamtlänge des Videos) und wartet ein paar Sekunden bis das Gerät das Video weiter abspielt. Oder man wählt die langsamere Art des vorspulens aber mit Bildanzeige – je nach Material werden die Bilder alle ca. 0,3 bis 3 Sekunden aktualisiert, d.h. es ist ruckeliges spulen, aber ausreichend. Viele DVD Player kriegen das auch nicht besser hin.

Mein Tipp zur Software: den Media Manager nicht installieren. Der frisst nur unnötig Ressourcen, versucht seine Mediadaten zu sortieren oder wenn ihm danach ist (und man unwissenderweise die Einstellung aktiviert hat) konvertiert es auch gerne mal die Videos, was 100% CPU Last und jede Menge verschwendetem Speicherplatz zur Folge hat. Der “File Access” genügt eigentlich, wenn man eine gewisse Ordnung auf seiner Platte beibehält, oder gleich die Ordnerstruktur fürs Showcenter anpasst. Dabei ist man nicht auf die 8.3 Dateinamen beschränkt, man kann schon ca. 30 Zeichen benutzen.

Für den Preis (vor einigen Monate 200€, jetzt nur noch 170€) gibt es keine Alternative fürs Videostreaming. Wer nach einem Video Streaming Client sucht, sollte hier unbedingt zugreifen!

Ein guter Kauf – Tynicus –
Die Videokarte arbeitet ordentlich und hardwaremäßig kann ich nichts negatives berichten. Die Software, aber dies ist auch von anderen Herstellern bekannt, ist einfach Schrott. Mit der richtigen Software eingesetzt (z. B. DVD-Dream) macht sie aber richtig spass.

Nancy Drew 75th Anniversary Great games, work fine on Vista – E. D. Andersen – Gresham, OR USA
These are the original first 5 Nancy Drew computer games and are great games. I am running Vista Home Premium SP2 and had NO problem installing or running the games. If someone has problems there is a good set of instructions for fixes on the Her International web site but I didn’t need them.

Fehler über Fehler – K. Legarth – Oberhausen
vor wenigen Wochen habe ich mir diese Karte in meinen Rechner eingebaut. Dies sind meine subjektiven Erfahrungen mit der PCTV Dual DVBT Pro PCI auf meinem individuellen Rechnersystem. Diese müssen keine Allgemeingültigkeit besitzen. Ich habe einen Athlon 64X2, Asus Board mit Nvidia Chipsatz und NVidia Onboardgrafik, 1GB DDR2-Ram, Windows XP mit SP2.

Die mitgelieferte MediaCenter-Software 4.2 hat zahlreiche massive Fehler. So wurden bei mir Sendungen, die ich vorprogrammiert habe, mehrfach nicht korrekt aufgezeichnet. Dies ist einer der gravierendsten Fehler, da die Karte hierdurch als zuverlässiger Videorecorder nicht zu gebrauchen ist. Weitere Fehler sind häufige Abstürze der Software und Fehler in der automatischen Seitenformatumschaltung. Der Online-Support ist ebenfalls mangelhaft. Ich habe mehrfach Fehlerbeschreibungen via eMail übermittelt, bisher hat der Hersteller keinerlei Reaktion gezeigt.

I love that this package includes a variety of scents (including super sensitive) and all the basics a newborn would need.

On their own, California baby products rate among the best in customer satisfaction across a number of sites and that mattered a great deal to me.

I do think the supplier could do away with the soft plastic tote as it’s contradictory to the purchasing motivations of those who’d buy California Baby. Go with something natural and/or biodegradable. Also, including a bear with plastic eyes is really no-no for a newborn gift. Just another thought.
